Homecoming for the Black Eagles at NBVC

The Black Eagles of VAW-113 celebrated a homecoming at Naval Base Ventura County following a six month deployment aboard the USS Carl Vinson in the Western Pacific and South China Sea on Wednesday, June 21. The Black Eagles fly the E-2C Hawkeye. A second E-2C squadron, the Liberty Bells, from MCAS Iwakuni, Japan also few into NBVC and will be relocating to California after 44 in Japan. Saying farewell to a fallen comrade

A memorial service was held last week for U.S. military veteran Richard Clarke at Pierce Brothers Valley Oaks Memorial Park in Westlake Village. Clarke, 79, who was homeless, served in the Army from 1956-59. The military funeral for the homeless veteran was provided by the Dignity Memorial Homeless Veterans Burial Program, which is dedicated to honoring homeless and indigent veterans with proper burials.
