Los Angeles County and L.A. city fire crews battled a large brush fire Saturday that threatened an estimated 3,000 homes and structures in theMulholland Highway vicinity of Calabasas.
What firefighters dubbed the Old Fire began at approximately 4 p.m. June 4 when a vehicle reportedly struck a power pole on Mulholland. Sparks ignited flames, which quickly spread, putting into danger Calabasas High School, Viewpoint School, Headwaters Corner and the city-owned Klubhouse Preschool.
