Ready, set, jump!

Three local women may be retired and, chronologically, members of the senior citizen set, but their young-at-heart spirits have spurred them to take part in myriad adventures, the latest being tandem skydiving.

Last week, Agoura Hills residents Judy Watson and Sylvia Duitz, and their mahjong partner Bobbe Newman from Woodland Hills, jumped from planes and landed in an empty field in rural Somis after a quick flight from Camarillo Airport, fulfilling yet another item on their bucket lists. Crews battle Calabasas Old Fire

Los Angeles County and L.A. city fire crews battled a large brush fire Saturday that threatened an estimated 3,000 homes and structures in theMulholland Highway vicinity of Calabasas.

What firefighters dubbed the Old Fire began at approximately 4 p.m. June 4 when a vehicle reportedly struck a power pole on Mulholland. Sparks ignited flames, which quickly spread, putting into danger Calabasas High School, Viewpoint School, Headwaters Corner and the city-owned Klubhouse Preschool. World Autism Awareness Day at Calvary Community Church

World Autism Awareness Day was held on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at Calvary Community Church in Westlake Village. Calvary joined locations all over the world including The White House, The Eiffel Tower, The Sydney Opera House, Madison Square Garden and One World Trade Center in New York by “Lighting Up the Church in Blue”, the official color for Autism awareness.
