MICHAEL COONS/Acorn Newspapers DESTROYED - Engineer Clint Hull of the Ventura County Fire Department works to put out a structure fire at an abandoned building on the 100 block of Mahogany Lane in Simi Valley on Dec. 30. The fire destroyed two buildings that used to belong to Simi Valley Unified School District. Another fire in August destroyed a two-story building on the same lot. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

The Rotary Club of Moorpark hosted the event which raises funds for the club's local charitable causes and organizations.
