OLD-WORLD PROFESSION—Pete Turpel portrays Norwegian immigrant George Hanson during a dress rehearsal of “Voices of Old Conejo” on Tuesday. Hanson’s death at the age of 39 in 1901 due to an accident while transporting goods led to the construction of the Norwegian Grade in Thousand Oaks. RG 320
