IRIS SMOOT/Acorn Newspapers TOMATO MOUNTAIN - Maria Nicchitta of Shadow Hills and Rick Chandler of Sylmar add the final boxes of Roma tomatoes onto their wheelbarrows for an approximate total of 300 pounds during the pick-your-own tomatoes event at Underwood Farms on Saturday, August 31. Last year the pair picked nearly 800 pounds, but Maria still has some left over from the canning and sauce-making process.
