Summer wild art

While driving around Moorpark last Saturday looking for wild art, I came across brothers Gavin and Ben Karna selling lemonade at a corner stand. The boys were raising funds for a future trip to the Harry Potter attraction at Universal Studios Hollywood. Photos by Michael Coons/Acorn Newspapers.

Rally for Simi Valley Police

A rally for local law enforcement was held on July 29 at the Simi Valley Police station. Around 200 residents walked from Lemon Park to the station in support of SVPD.  Similar rally’s were held in Camarillo, Ventura and Moorpark. Photos by Michael Coons/Acorn Newspapers

Spaghetti crossing

Dance brings back moves of Victorian era

Wearing a reproduction of a striped day dress from the year 1867, Laura Beraha channeled a lady from the Victorian era during a calico ball put on by the Simi Valley Vintage Dance Society.

“What I like about the time period is people dressed prettily and they knew how to behave; they had nice manners,” the 68-year-old West Hills resident said. “Everybody’s so polite . . . people dress to the teeth in period clothing and they are all very, very nice.” Read the rest of the story here.
